Mr. Slavinskas, father of one of our seminarians (Jonathon Slavinskas), his wife and mother in law (both not featured in this picture) came to Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and cooked for over 150 seminarians and guests. On the menu: Penne Pasta al sugo (tomato sauce flavored with juices of ribs and sausage); Italian sausages; homemade pork meatballs; roasted chicken; and salad. Ben Green is showing of his skills by stirring the pot with the 'paddle!'

Check out the hungry seminarians and a few house guests. All had plenty to eat, as evident in the happy faces! If you want to touch people’s hearts and minds, go by way of their stomachs!

Making sauce for some 250 people was quite a task. I needed some extra 'leverage' to make sure things were coming together in that huge pot!

At the conference I celebrated 2 Masses, One Presentation, a cooking demo, and a great number of book signings! God continues to bless our Grace Before Meals mission!

Here’s a picture of Mama & Papa Slavinkas – the mother of seminarian Jonathon Slavinskas. They made a wonderful Italian meal for the whole seminarian community!

I've already told you of my appreciation (ok, love) for KFC. This is a picture sent by my friend Fr. Erik Pohlmeier when he and several priests stopped into a KFC in South America during a summer vacation. He knew how much I wanted to be there with them but my schedule prevented me. He knew how much I like KFC, and so to 'spite me' he sends this!

Me, George, Mike, (Famous Christian SINGER Matt Maher in Center), Chris, Adam, and Joe at the MCI Center in DC at the March for Life Mass which drew over 30,000 people.

As part of a thank you to the MC's (Masters of Ceremonies) at my former parish, St. John Westminster, I treated the young men to an Italian Feast in Baltimore's Little Italy. We dined at 'La Scala' and had a blast! These are good young men who are (1) willing to discern their vocation to either priesthood or marriage life and (2) assist in liturgical functions as possible liturgical leaders in their parishes!

While in St. John, I was part of the MIB (Men In Black) Basketball game - an event that gathers over 1,000 people to watch priests and seminarians play against the parish's basketball team. It's quite an event to promote family fun and vocations! NO, I don't play basketball, but I did to the half-time show! This is a picture of our 'star warz' theme skit!

In the sumer of 2006, a group of young people walked from Main to DC - spreading the message of life, chastity, and the Eucharist. They came to me asking for ideas on how to 'feed' people Body, Mind and Spirit. We of course talked over a big 'pranzo' - the Italian word for a noon time meal!

This is a group of priests who gather for the annual St. Joseph Dinner. One year (2005) we had the privelege to celebrate Mass with Cardinal Keeler in the Carroll Manor Chapel - that would be 'Carroll' who signed the Declaration of Independence! That evening's menu was truly a St. Joseph Honor: Pollo di Peccorino Parmesan!
